Apolo Ohno – Success in Diverse Fields of Endeavor

Most Olympians have faded into the background since their award winning athletic performances. In many cases the successful athletes feel their victory is enough, rest on their laurels, and are able to settle into a quieter pace of life that may include speaking to audiences or representing brand products. Apolo Ohno‘s remarkable success story includes being the winning est US Winter Olympic Athlete ever, and as a speedster he has earned dozens of medals in World Cup and Olympic competitions. Ohio was also the United States Olympic Committee’s Male Athlete of the Month in October 2003 and March 2008, the U.S. Speed skating’s Athlete of the Year for 2003, and was a 2002, 2003 and 2006 finalist for the Sullivan Award, which recognizes the best amateur athlete in the United States. Since gaining recognition through his sport, Apolo Ohno has worked as a motivational speaker, commentator, and philanthropist; he even competed on and won the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars.

Apolo Ohno has been directly responsible for bringing brand awareness and market exposure to a multitude of fortune 400 companies on several projects including: Raytheon, GE, GM, VISA, Ebay, Coca-Cola, Nestle and NBC. He serves as an Ambassador to the development of the Special Olympics in Asia, the World Philanthropy forum and was appointed by Barack Obama as a U.S. Presidential appointee to the Presidents Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in 2011.
